KIMONO FASHION

September 22, 2017

Today's outfit was inspired by the traditional Japanese robes that have been a huge street style trend for the past year. These contemporary kimonos have been given a modern update as far as; prints, fringe, varying lengths, and will give a outfit a cool boho chic vibe. Please think again  if you think they're only appropriate for music festivals! Kimonos can be worn with almost anything in your closet, from skinny jeans, shorts, skirts, and heels, or layered over a mini dress for some serious 70s vibes. As you guys might know by now the 70s era is one of my favorite trends!

My kimono outfit was styled a little bit different because I didn't want the common shirt and short look. I thought about belting mines and wearing it as a dress, too bad I was blessed with long legs and that didn't workout for me. So I ended up wearing the kimono as a off the shoulder top and pinned the middle using a safety pin. Before I pinned the middle I slightly gathered the fabric together making it look like a knot in the middle, because I didn't want the safety pin to be too obvious. I was going for a edgy/classy street style look so I paired white lace up shorts to tone out the different colors, and the red strappy sandals completed the whole look.

I low key loved how everyone thought I was wearing a shirt and wanted to know where to purchase it lol! Now that I told everyone my secret on how I created my look, I would love to see everyone's creativity skills while wearing a kimono.

THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY MY LOVES!!!!

XOXOXOXO
